My client has a mixed Notes client / iNotes environment and I am 'web-enabling' a corporate phone directory which contains employee mail addresses.
I know how to configure a desktop for Notes to create a mail memo when a mailto: link is clicked in a browser, BUT...
...how to get the same functionality for iNotes users?
I do have total flexibility with the way the mailto: links are created. This phone directory will be in a separate browser window.
Is there a way for one browser window to know anything about another browser window (i.e. can I determine in the directory if the user has iNotes open already)? Can I 'query' all other windows for info?
I may be able to require that the directory be opened from a link in the Contacts pull-down within iNotes, so I could pass user info in the query string, but I'd like a more generalized solution.
I did see some sort of server or client-based DLL that would make iNotes react to the mailto: but it required dependence on registry settings and that can't be guaranteed.
